Russian bind off knitting technique

This cast off technique is a very interesting one. It may be a bit complicated to learn at first, but it’s definitely worth to try. Although it’s not as stretchy as Estonian bind off, it is very neat looking and my second favorite cast off method for now.

Find a video tutorial for this cast off method below 🙂

Step 1

Start with knitting the first stitch and passing it back to your left-hand needle.

Step 2

Insert your right-hand needle into first stitch purlwise and into the second stitch knitwise without slipping them off from your left-hand needle.

Step 3

Grab the yarn and carefully bring it through both stitches. Now you can slip those stitches off from your left-hand needle.

Step 4

Pass just formed stitch back to your left-hand needle and repeat the process starting from Step 2.
