Two of last history posts were from the same pattern sheet – Airy Silhouette and Star of Nupps. Both from 1984. Here is the third pattern from this sheet (this is a last one from it, I promise) – Island Waves.
By the way, all the pattern names are from my fantasy. If you happen to know any official names then please, tell me. Otherwise I just use my imagination 🙂
On the pattern sheet, this pattern was used on a sweater. I see some additional uses – shawls (scarf freak as I am), mittens, socks, beret, baby blanket… . Well, shortly said – in every project you may come up (larger ones are better of course).

Pattern for Island Waves

Pattern repeat for this knitted lace is 12 stitches (add 15 (7+8) stitches total for edges) and 22 rows.
Row 1: k6, YO, (sk2p, YO, k9, YO) repeat as many times you like, sk2p, YO, k6;
Row 2 and all the WS rows: purl;
Rows 3, 5, 7, 9: k7, (k1, YO, k4, p3tog, k4, YO) repeat as many times you like, k8;
Row 11: k2, YO, k4, (p3tog, k4, YO, k1, YO, k4) repeat as many times you like, p3tog, k4, YO, k2;
Row 13: k3, YO, k3, (p3tog, k3, YO, k3, YO, k3) repeat as many times you like, p3tog, k3, YO, k3;
Row 15: k4, YO, k2, (p3tog, k2, YO, k2tog, YO, k1, YO, ssk, YO, k2) repeat as many times you like, p3tog, k2, YO, k4;
Row 17: k5, YO, k1, (p3tog, k1, YO, k2tog, YO, k3, YO, ssk, YO, k1) repeat as many times you like, p3tog, k1, YO, k5;
