How to knit two knitted pieces together

Sometimes there is a hideous moment when you need to sew two knitted pieces together. With an actual sewing needle (oh, I hate that part). For example, folding a hat brim in half and sew it in place or folding an edge in half for a blanket to get a super nice trim.

It is pain if you hate sewing (like me), so – knit your pieces together instead, joining as you go. I use this technique often when I knit winter hats for children. On this tutorial, I’m knitting together live stitches and cast on stitches, but you can do the same when you have all live stitches or all cast on/off stitches, etc.

Grab your piece(es) and let’s get started. I have a hat brim that needs to be folded and worked together.
