Tonis Estonian lace knitting KAL

It’s almost the middle of April and I’m finally getting back to Toni’s Estonian lace sampler scarf. Not that there’s a hurry. You can check out the clue for January here, but this is February:

Knitting Estonian lace sampler scarf knitalong with beads or nupps

I have to admit, this is the first time I knitted lace hearts, although I have knitted lace and all kinds of patterns many years now. And I really enjoyed it. This time I even searched my beads as well.

What also excited me was the very common Estonian lace technique called “two from two” or “gathered stitch technique with 2 stitches”. I have a tutorial on that, but do not worry at all – it’s not difficult. Check it out here: https://pattern-duchess.com/two-gathered-stitches/

If you also want to jump in with us then make sure to check out Toni’s Estonian sampler scarf pattern here:

What makes Toni’s patterns and KALs so interesting is that she’s giving an option to add beads and you can use them instead of the “nupp” stitches (which are common for Estonian lace).
