Tonis Estonian lace knitting KAL

As I’m slowly getting back to knitting I thought it would be fun to knit someone else’s patterns for a change. And what would be more perfect than Estonian lace? Yes, nothing.

Would you care to join me as me and other knitters around the world will be knitting an Estonian sampler scarf 2020 using different lace motifs?

I’m so excited!

There will be 12 clues, each one released on or around the beginning of each month, starting January 1st, 2020. I already have received and knitted the 1st clue and you can see it on the picture here:

What makes Toni’s patterns and KALs so interesting is that she’s giving an option to add beads and you can use them instead of the “nupp” stitches (which are common for Estonian lace). Or you can use both, of course. Unfortunately, I was too lazy to find my beads so just lace it is.

It’s not the first time I’m knitting with Toni. For example, here’s the KAL from 2017. I can’t believe it’s been that long.

I thought about using that same yellow yarn I used in 2017, but Malabrigo Lace spoke to me so seductively. It flirted with me, making compliments – I had to take it. Next time, to complement the yarn, I’ll use beads or “nupp” stitches though…

PS! You can keep an eye on my progress on my Ravelry project page.
