Hi, welcome to my knitting blog Pattern Duchess! My name is Mari-Liis and I’m so glad to see you here. That’s me ⇣
I was taught to knit when I was 4 or 5 by my lovely grandmother. It’s been over 30 years now and knitting with granny is my fondest memory of my childhood.
Granny often used to say to me, that knitting should be an interesting and fulfilling experience so you can relax. Not dull or frustrating. You shouldn’t want to cry and scratch your hair out.
So, my goal for PatternDuchess is to make seemingly complicated knitting techniques as simple as possible and give you the necessary confidence to try even the most challenging knitting projects.
And to talk about knitting. A lot! By the way, knitting lace and cables is my thing…
I’m a mother of two awesome kids (ages 20 & 16, but who’s counting). I cook and clean (which I sometimes like), do some gardening (and failing miserably), and I’m a huge fan of Christmas (sadly it’s once a year thing).
I also have a secret! When other women collect shoes then I collect yarn. There, I said it…
Knitting blog Pattern Duchess is the place where we can share the love and admiration we feel for mushy yarns, all the gorgeous knitted garments, and compelling knitting techniques that help us advance the craft of knitting.
Let’s go on a journey together!
